Gates Consultants were established by John W Gates and Fred Turner in 1947. With a traditional Quantity Surveying foundation, the Practice has evolved to provide a wide range of professional services in the construction industry. Originally based in Bridgwater, Somerset, Gates Consultants have expanded and now have three offices which serve the whole of the South and West of England.

Lynn Brooks, our Principal Designer and H&S Manager travelled to the Chernobyl nuclear reactor site in the Ukraine last month, where she learnt about the construction work & clean up of the contamination in the immediate time after the explosion, the longer term decontamination work & how the area is managed today. This included a visit to the Chernobyl reactor site as it is today & the nearby town of Pripyat which was totally evacuated after the reactor explosion in 1986 & is now being reclaimed by the natural world 🌳🌿🍃
