Gates Consultants were established by John W Gates and Fred Turner in 1947. With a traditional Quantity Surveying foundation, the Practice has evolved to provide a wide range of professional services in the construction industry. Originally based in Bridgwater, Somerset, Gates Consultants have expanded and now have three offices which serve the whole of the South and West of England.

đź“ŁGates successfully delivered the Principal Director (CDM) role for the Lowarth Morbies development in Truro on behalf for Housing 21.
The development required demolition of the existing buildings & construction of retirement living apartments including all services connections & landscaping. The project commenced in 2020, but the original Principal Contractor ceased trading, & a full re-tender process took place, including CDM assessment of works completed up to the point when the original contractor was no longer involved.
🛠️Construction with a new Principal Contractor re-commenced in March 2023 & completion of our PD-CDM role was in January 2026, with handover of the final Health & Safety File.

Gates are pleased to have been involved with the refurbishment of the Daghole public toilets in Cheddar, which reopened at the end of February following 2 months of modernisation works.
Cheddar Parish Council are committed to protecting and improving essential community facilities.
